Reminiscent of the Playboy Bunny scene from Apocalpse Now.

Oh Suzy-Q
Oh Suzy-Q
I love you
Suzy-Q!
I wish they'd visit up here. But then again, I guess CT is a lost cause.
Posted by: ArklahomBoy at October 23, 2004 11:09 PMCool pics! :) They've been down here so much I feel bad that I haven't attended a rally... like when out of town relatives come to visit and stay in a hotel! Well, kinda. ;)
Posted by: pam at October 24, 2004 08:06 PMIt figures. The President comes to my town and I am stuck in Broward, pet-sitting!
Posted by: Cindy at October 25, 2004 07:31 AMI'm torn. I'm in California which, thanks to the Electoral College, is locked in for Kerry so nobody bothers to come here unless they want money. We're the Democrats' ATM.
So on the one hand I hate all politicians and I want them all as far away as possible. And the only contentious political ads that run on tv ad nauseum are for the ballot propositions and the local sleezebags. So I'm spared the Kerry/Bush bashing.
But on the other hand, I hate being taken for granted like this.
You'd like a little courting, wouldn't you, James?
Cindy, I wished you'd have been there and taken lots of pics for me.
Posted by: Donnah at October 25, 2004 11:01 PMDamn right. You know what's going to happen--may as well get wined and dined first.
Posted by: James at October 25, 2004 11:31 PMTo James in Connecticut -- Don't despair.
I was recently in New Haven for an academic affair. When I revealed I was from Florida, the conversation went to the recent hurrricanes. One of the attendees volunteered that she thought Gov. Bush did a great job handling the disasters.
Before everyone could start dumping on the Bush brothers, I owned up to supporting the president (I'm retired now and don't have to keep my mouth shut anymore) and think both Bush brothers are doing a great job in the face of the media barrage of lies, distorti0ons, and just plain fabrications. Before I could finish, this same woman leaned over and whispered in my ear, that there are a lot of us here now.
I was stunned. In all my years in the academic world, I had never heard anyone spout any political opinion other than the received wisdom of the leftwing party line.
Stay positive. Reagon won Connecticut and there's a chance that Bush will too.
